About Me

How I became a streetsoccer player

I played soccer al my life. When I was a little boy, I always were playing outside with a ball. And I played soccer on the field from my 6th untill I was 18 years old. I quited playing fieldsoccer to go playing indoor.

When I was 17 years old, I played almost every day on field in my neighbourhood. I met a guy who was really good at freestyle. His name is Rowdy (www.youtube.com/rujuro). I saw him doing tricks like ATW combo's.

I really wanted to do that tricks to. So from that moment I was training on easy freestyle tricks like the ATW's and Crossovers. I learned that tricks with Steven a.k.a. Bakker(www.youtube.com/bakker91)

Also Rowdy told me about the clips on youtube from Edward van Gils. And he told me that Edward did live somewhere in my neighbourhood. I watched a few clips from Edward on youtube and I was really amazed by seeing that kind of tricks. Before that clips I didn't knew of that tricks, while I was playing soccer my whole life.

In this period I started playing more with Rowdy and I met a friend of him, Cliff. I really have to thank Cliff for learning me the basic groundmoves.

A week later I saw Edward playing in reallife on the field I was talking over. I didn't beleived my eyes! That was in the summer of 2006. In that summer I also saw players like Issy 'hitman', Djuric, Orry and Vaantje for the first time in my live. From that moment the streetsoccer-virus caught me!

Now I play almost 2 times a week at the viaduct. And 1 indoorsoccer match with my team (including Rowdy and Cliff)
